Fraudsters using a deception scheme related to online credit card processing have become more active in Russia. They promise approval of a banking product with high limits and a low interest rate, even for those with a poor credit history. This was reported on November 8 in TASS with reference to the materials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Fraudsters offer citizens to register on fake websites, fill out questionnaires with personal data, which are then used to apply for loans and other crimes. In some cases, fraudsters demand to transfer money to an account, ostensibly to guarantee receiving a large amount on a credit card.

The ministry reminded that one should not trust offers with "special conditions", and also urged Russians to be careful when entering personal data on suspicious sites.

Earlier, on November 6, the head of the Roskachestvo Digital Expertise Center, Sergey Kuzmenko, said that scammers were actively creating phishing sites for Black Friday, which would be on November 28. He also recommended paying close attention to QR codes posted in public places. According to Kuzmenko, attackers often paste them on information stands in entrances or distribute them through flyers, promising exclusive promo codes and maximum discounts.
