Rescuers have completely extinguished a fire at the helicopter crash site in the Republic of Dagestan. This was announced on November 7 by the regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.

"The fire has been completely extinguished," the agency's Telegram channel said.

17 pieces of equipment and 51 people were involved in extinguishing, the Ministry of Emergency Situations concluded.

The helicopter crash happened on the same day. It was clarified that the KA-226 aircraft of Concern KEMZ JSC crashed at 15:10 Moscow time near the village of Achi-Su. Later it became known that the helicopter crashed into a private uninhabited house in the village of Achi-Su, resulting in a fire. In total, there were seven people on board the aircraft: four were killed, three were hospitalized.

All the victims were employees of the Kizlyar Electromechanical Plant (KEMZ).

The moment of the helicopter crash was captured on video. The footage shows how the blades of the aircraft break on impact with the ground, after which the helicopter catches fire. According to eyewitness Asadullah Aliyev, the aircraft lost control after it hit the pier with its rear wing and began to spin in the air, after which it collapsed and caught fire.

The operational services involved in the investigation admitted that the cause of the crash could be a technical malfunction. Later, the emergency services clarified that the helicopter crash was caused by an engine fire in flight. The Federal Air Transport Agency classifies the incident as a disaster.

A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of air transport, which negligently resulted in the death of two or more persons").
