The United States must significantly reduce its nuclear arsenal in order to ensure the conditions for complete nuclear disarmament. This was announced on November 7 by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning.

"The United States, as the country with the largest nuclear arsenal, must faithfully fulfill its special and priority obligations on nuclear disarmament, and further significantly and substantially reduce its nuclear arsenal in order to create conditions for achieving comprehensive and complete nuclear disarmament," RIA Novosti quoted her as saying.

The representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry also noted that Washington's demand for Beijing to join the negotiations on nuclear arms control is "unreasonable and unworkable." According to the diplomat, China's nuclear potential is incommensurable with the capabilities of the United States and Russia, which makes such a requirement unfair.
