The Ministry of Education and Science announced the date of the transition of universities to a new education system

Russian universities will switch to the updated higher education system in 2027. This was announced on November 6 by Dmitry Afanasyev, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education, at the All-Russian meeting of deans and heads of departments of historical faculties.

"We are guided by the fact that 2027 will be the year of a systematic, general transition to a new model of higher education," TASS quoted him as saying.

As Afanasyev noted, in addition to the current pilot project, which is already being implemented at a number of Russian universities, the agency is preparing large-scale changes to the legislation on education. He clarified that the draft reform has already been developed and is undergoing a closed discussion stage. After that, the document will be submitted for public review.
