Latvia handed over 21 Patria armored personnel carriers to Ukraine
Ukraine has received 21 Patria 6x6 armored personnel carriers from Latvia. This was announced on November 6 by Ukrainian Defense Minister Denis Shmygal.
"The transfer of the vehicles took place today in Riga at the Adazi military base," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to Shmygal, the armored personnel carriers are designed for special operations units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is noted that since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has received 42 armored vehicles from Latvia. As part of the current assistance package, 12 CVR(T) combat reconnaissance vehicles have also been transferred, which are part of the previously announced arms supplies.
On November 5, Shmyhal announced that in 2025 Denmark had transferred €1.2 billion to Ukraine to finance the military industry according to the "Danish model." It was clarified that the "Danish model" implies financing of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex (MIC) by other countries. These funds will be used to finance the production of artillery, attack drones, missiles and anti-tank guns.
On November 4, the EU allocated Ukraine the next tranche of financial assistance in the amount of €1.8 billion under the Ukraine Facility program. The allocation of the fifth regular tranche is related to Ukraine's fulfillment of nine necessary steps, as well as one previously unfulfilled obligation from the fourth payment.
