Senator Alexei Pushkov criticized the statement by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte that Russia allegedly undermines "global rules." He made a corresponding statement on his Telegram channel.

"NATO Secretary General Rutte is blowing a blizzard again: Russia is not trying to undermine the "global rules", but is defending its vital interests," Pushkov wrote.

The senator recalled that long before the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, Western countries, led by the United States, supported the secession of Kosovo from Yugoslavia, that is, they "dismembered a sovereign state." In addition, he noted that European countries "bombed" Belgrade without the approval of the UN Security Council. Pushkov also pointed to the aggression of the United States and Britain against Iraq with the participation of 25 NATO countries and the encouragement of former Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili to aggression against South Ossetia.

According to Pushkov, it is these actions that demonstrate who is actually undermining the system of international norms.

"So after all this, who is constantly, persistently and maliciously undermining global rules? Don't bring a blizzard, Rutte," concluded Pushkov.
