Typhoon Kalmaegi is moving towards southern China, a yellow warning level has been introduced. This was reported on CCTV on November 5.

It was noted that villagers on the central island of Negros had also been warned that heavy rains could cause volcanic mudslides on the Kanlaon volcano, which has been spewing clouds of ash and steam in recent months.

At least 66 people died as a result of the natural disaster. Bernardo Rafaelito Alejandro, deputy head of the Civil Defense Department of the Philippines, said that 49 people out of the total number of deaths on Cebu Island, deaths were also reported in the Western and Eastern Visayas, as well as in the Negros Island area. 26 people are considered missing.
