An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 was recorded off the coast of Kamchatka in the morning. This was reported on November 3 in the Telegram channel of the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The tremors were registered at 06:55 Moscow time. The epicenter was located at a depth of 42.5 km, about 397 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
According to preliminary data, there are no damage or injuries as a result of the earthquake.
On October 30, the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences warned that earthquakes of up to 10 magnitude could occur in certain areas of Kamchatka, which poses a threat to local infrastructure. It was clarified that the cities of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Yelizovo, and Vilyuchinsk are in the area of impact of natural disasters.
