At least 24 people have died in a major traffic accident in the Indian state of Telangana. This was reported on November 3 by the Hindustan Times newspaper.
The accident occurred on the highway leading to the state capital, Hyderabad. A passenger bus with 70 people collided with a truck carrying gravel. The impact caused part of the cargo to collapse onto the bus, trapping the passengers inside.
Rescue services are working at the scene. Excavators were brought in to sort the rubble and extract the injured. The preliminary cause of the accident is speeding and loss of control by the truck driver.
