The Russian government has awarded Sochi the status of a resort of federal significance. The relevant decree was published on the official Internet portal of legal information on November 2.

It is specified that the document was signed by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin. The decision will enter into force on January 1, 2026.
