The Euroclear depository began to unfreeze the assets of Russians without a US license

The Belgian depository Euroclear has begun unblocking the assets of Russians without the need to obtain an American OFAC license. This was reported on November 1 by RBC Investments, citing a representative of a major broker involved in the process of unfreezing the assets of Russian investors.

At the moment, three successful cases have been confirmed, as noted by NSP lawyer Gleb Boyko. He added that now only a Belgian license is enough to unlock the assets. Previously, this required licenses from both EU and US regulators.
