I think the likelihood of a nuclear conflict is reduced if you know what [arsenal] you possess and are confident that it is functioning properly," Hegseth stressed, as quoted by TASS.

According to the president, the process should begin "immediately." On October 30, the European Union called on the United States to comply with its international obligations regarding nuclear nonproliferation after the announcement of the resumption of nuclear testing. The representative of the European Commission (EC), Anna-Kaisa Itkonen, added that she appeals to both Russia and the United States.
