A gold toilet bowl weighing over 100 kg, created by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan, will be sold at auction at Sotheby's auction house on November 18. This was reported on October 31 by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

According to the publication, the product is fully functional. It is made of gold and weighs 101.2 kg. The starting price of the lot will be $10 million.

As noted by Sotheby's expert David Halperin, potential buyers will be able to inspect the art object in person, however, "sitting on works of art" is not recommended.

Cattelan is known for his provocative projects, in particular, an installation in the form of a banana taped to the wall, which was previously sold for $6.2 million.
