The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against the head of the Department of Land and Property Relations of the Derbent administration, suspected of abuse of office. This was reported on October 31 in the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Dagestan.

"A criminal case has been opened against the head of the Land and Property Relations Department of the Derbent city district administration. He is suspected of committing two episodes of a crime under paragraph "d" of Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Abuse of official authority committed by a group of persons by prior agreement")," follows from the message in the Telegram channel.

According to the investigation, in 2023-2024, the official, together with other representatives of the administration, illegally distributed municipal lands, including changing their area in the interests of third parties. These actions have damaged the administration and violated the rights of citizens.

The department clarified that searches had been conducted at the suspect's place of residence and in the administration buildings. Currently, investigators are establishing the circumstances of the incident.

Earlier, on October 24, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on abuse of office against the former head of the Rostov-on-Don city administration, Alexei Logvinenko. It was clarified that, contrary to the requirements of budget legislation, he had attracted a loan from a commercial bank. As a result of his illegal actions, the city's budget suffered damage in the amount of more than 47 million rubles.
