A classified report by the US government service says that Israeli military units have committed "hundreds" of potential violations of US human rights laws in the Gaza Strip, which the State Department will take "several years" to review.

According to the newspaper, the Office of the Inspector General of the State Department confirmed the existence of the relevant document, but refused to disclose its details. At the same time, the report, prepared a few days before the signing of the armistice agreement, indicates the actions of the Israeli army, which fall under the Leahy law. This law prohibits the provision of military assistance to foreign units involved in human rights violations.

It is noted that despite the conclusions reached, the prospects for bringing Israel to justice "remain doubtful" due to the large number of incidents and the nature of the review procedure, which, according to the interlocutors, is conducted "with respect" to the Israeli army.
