The Russian Foreign Ministry announced Kiev's desire to carry out a man-made disaster
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) do not hide their intentions to cause a man-made disaster by flooding settlements along the banks of the Seversky Donets River in order to slow down the advance of Russian troops in the Volchansk area in the Kharkiv region. This was announced on October 30 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"From October 25 to October 26, as a result of several deliberate attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces using American HIMARS and rocket missiles, the buildings and the hydraulic seal of the Belgorod Reservoir dam were damaged," she added.
According to Zakharova, the strikes were also carried out with the help of drones, which made it possible to significantly increase the scale of damage and attack repair crews strengthening the dam. Such actions do not hide the enemy's goal of creating a man—made disaster that will complicate the Russian offensive. According to her, this situation is reminiscent of the events of June 2023, when the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed the Kakhovskaya HPP dam, acting according to a similar scheme.
On October 29, the Rosgvardiya military destroyed the AFU militants in the Kharkiv direction. It is noted that the Russian guardsmen recorded the enemy's movement during aerial reconnaissance using drones. The military tracked the temporary location of the enemy and transmitted the coordinates to the command post.
