Russian Ambassador to the United States Alexander Darchiev said on October 30 that the appeal of the First Lady of the United States Melania Trump to Russian President Vladimir Putin led to the successful reunification of several families.

In his statement, Darchiev stressed the importance of this initiative, noting that Melania Trump expressed gratitude for the willingness of the Russian side to provide complete and objective information about the fate of minors in the conflict zone.

"Thanks to this interaction, seven children were promptly reunited with their relatives in Ukraine and one girl returned to Russia," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
