Hungary does not rule out that the accident at the refinery, which uses Russian oil, occurred as a result of an "external attack." This was announced on October 30 by Prime Minister Viktor Orban after a meeting with Interior Minister Sandor Pinter.

He also noted that Hungary is aiming to obtain exemptions from US sanctions in order to continue buying oil and gas from Russia.
