Residents of favelas in Rio De Janeiro, where there were fights with the gang, brought dozens of bodies to the square, the total death toll is estimated at 128, the G1 portal reported on 29.

According to official data, 128 deaths have been recorded since October 28, of which 60 are suspects, and four are civilian and military police officers.

"The bodies brought to the square were not included in the official figures," said the Prime Minister's secretary, Colonel Marcelo de Menezes Nogueira.

On October 28, about 2.5 thousand military and civilian police participated in an operation called "Deterrence", the purpose of which was to execute 100 arrest warrants for members of the Comando Vermelho criminal group. During the operation, 81 people were arrested, 10 rifles, a pistol and nine motorcycles were seized.

Later, 64 people were reported dead, including four policemen.
