Producer Gromova spoke about the last days of actor Roman Popov's life.
On October 28, Irina Gromova, producer of the Kinogrom company, told Izvestia about the last days of the life of actor Roman Popov, who died due to cancer.
"We saw him on the last day, he said: "I want to live! I want to come to you!" How unfair! <...> A talented young guy saved up money to build a house. Three kids! <...> This disease... Why would he do that to such a kind man?"— shared Gromova.
The producer noted that colleagues regularly visited Popov in the hospital, supported him with songs and jokes.
"Once a week we all went to him, supported him, sang songs with him, told jokes. <...> He also sang songs, even stamped his foot to the beat," Gromova recalls.
According to the producer, the actor even refused chemotherapy in order to go with the team to the Artek center, but the doctors did not allow it because of the beginning of the course of chemotherapy. According to Gromova, Popov's mother said before her son's death that he was determined to fight the disease, and everyone was confident in his recovery.
"His mom told us the last time we saw him that she was glad that Roma had said he would live. I gave myself such an attitude. We were sure that Roman would pull through," the producer concluded.
Earlier that day, a source from Izvestia reported the death of the star of the TV series "Policeman from Rublevka" Roman Popov. He was 40 years old. In August, the artist announced on his Telegram channel that he had a recurrence of brain cancer. Oncology returned seven years later.
