Lavrov ruled out the possibility of a Russian attack on Europe and NATO

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the country has no plans to attack NATO and European Union (EU) member states. The corresponding statement was made on October 28 during a speech at the plenary session of the III Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security.

"We had no intention and have no intentions of attacking any country from the current members of NATO and the European Union. We are ready to consolidate this position in future security guarantees for this part of Eurasia, but we refuse to consider these future guarantees... The EU leaders are leaving," stressed the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Lavrov also noted that after the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, the EU began to demand security guarantees, which are being developed without the participation of the Russian Federation and are directed against its interests. According to the minister, this approach excludes the possibility of forming a balanced European security system.
