The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia is ready to take measures against unjustified increases in electricity tariffs for the population, including the cancellation of regional decisions. The press service of the ministry informed Izvestia about this on October 27.

"The agency will ensure that the electricity tariffs set for the population do not exceed the specified limits. If necessary, the service will take measures (cancellation of regional decisions) to prevent unjustified wage increases for citizens," the FAS stressed.

According to the analysis, the introduction of differentiated electricity tariffs did not affect about 90% of citizens, since their electricity consumption falls within the first billing range. It is specified that tariff differentiation in 2025 allowed the budget to save 31.7 billion rubles.

According to the FAS, differentiated tariffs will not be introduced in regions where cross-subsidization accounts for less than 1% of the revenue of network organizations. In addition, the social consumption rate remains subject to an annual reduction in cross-subsidization by 1% or if there is a regulatory agreement that takes into account the pace of tariff changes for the population.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on October 16 that the costs of energy companies should not be automatically invested in the tariff for electricity consumers. He noted that this requires more flexible solutions: regulatory innovations, electricity demand management, and mechanisms to support investments in fuel and energy complexes (fuel and energy complex).
