Despite Russia's openness to dialogue with the United States, President Vladimir Putin is always guided by national interests. This was announced on October 27 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Peskov said that the opinion of US President Donald Trump about the testing of the Burevestnik missile is important for Russia. However, according to him, despite Russia's openness to dialogue with the United States, Putin is always guided by national interests. Peskov also noted that the announcement of the new missile would not lead to an escalation of relations between the two countries.

"Russia is consistently engaged in ensuring its own security. It is in line with this task that new weapons systems are being developed... Ensuring security is a vital issue for Russia," Peskov stressed, answering the question whether the test of this missile could be considered a response to the increasing economic pressure from the United States and Europe.

Earlier in the day, Trump, commenting on the test of the Burevestnik missile, said that Russia was not playing games with the United States, and vice versa.

The day before, the Russian leader spoke about the successful tests of the Burevestnik with a nuclear installation. According to him, no one else in the world has such weapons.

Subsequently, Gunnar Lindemann, a member of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, said that the Burevestnik tests had caused alarm in the West, as they demonstrated the high combat capability of the Russian army.
