Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on October 26 that Europe's position on the Ukrainian conflict was changing depending on the situation on the front line.

"Now the Europeans are trying to dominate the agenda with their rhetoric about a cease-fire. They change their position depending on what is happening on the front line," the Foreign Minister said in an interview with the Ultrahang YouTube channel.

Lavrov stressed that Moscow sees its task as protecting people who have been deprived of the opportunity to be part of Russian culture in Ukraine.

He added that the main reason for the start of the special military operation was NATO's desire to draw Ukraine into the alliance and deploy military bases in Crimea and on the coast of the Sea of Azov.

Russian Russians are also responsible for the destruction of everything Russian — history, language, media, culture, education, and the demolition and destruction of monuments to representatives of the Russian people, who are the founders of the current eastern and southern regions of Ukraine.

Earlier in the day, Lavrov said that calls for a cease—fire were an attempt to buy time again. According to him, a number of agreements, including the Minsk agreements, were blocked by external factors, which, in his opinion, excluded the possibility of a peaceful settlement within the previous framework.
