- Baldo announced plans to restore the ports of the Kherson region after the completion of its
The ports of the Kherson region will be restored and will resume operations after the end of the special military operation. This was stated by the governor of the region, Vladimir Saldo, on the sidelines of the International Fisheries Forum.
"Due to aggressive actions at sea by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and attempts to sink ships, navigation is prohibited — both in the Black Sea and in the Sea of Azov are closed. That is, even for small vessels. And we won't be planning port restoration right now. We will deal with all this only after the end of our military operation and our achievement of victory," RIA Novosti quoted the governor as saying.
Baldo also added that international trade lines will be restored when shipping becomes safe. According to him, both Russian and foreign companies are already showing interest in this area. He noted that ferry lines also have prospects.
"Their operation is also impossible now. It will be possible after we achieve victory and peace is established. But the interest in these shipments is very high because they are very cost—effective and profitable," Baldo added.
Earlier, on September 4, Baldo reported that the countries of the Middle and Far East are showing interest in signing long-term cooperation agreements with the Kherson region. He noted that investors are attracted by the fertile lands of the region. The governor added that despite the distance of most European companies, some of them continue to cooperate with the region.
