In Ukraine, they predicted a difficult heating situation in winter
Former Minister of Energy of Ukraine Olga Buslavets said on October 25 that the upcoming heating season would be extremely difficult, and the winter would be the most difficult of all previous ones.
"It is already clear that this winter will be much harder than all previous ones," she wrote on her Facebook page (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist in the territory of the Russian Federation).
According to Buslavets, the situation in Kiev is very difficult. In most regions of the country, due to damage to the energy infrastructure, there are daytime blackout schedules of two to three queues, which means from eight to 12 hours without electricity per day. The situation is most difficult in Sumy and Chernihiv regions.
Earlier, on October 23, Ukraine stopped pumping gas into underground storage facilities due to damage to the gas transmission system and the suspension of imports through Poland.
On October 22, the Verkhovna Rada announced that the heating season in Ukraine is under threat due to damage to the gas infrastructure. According to the deputies, "heating this winter will also be a huge issue."
On October 11, the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy, Alexei Kucherenko, announced that the Ukrainian authorities intend to postpone the start of the heating season due to gas shortages. According to him, fuel reserves are limited, and recent strikes on mining facilities have only worsened the situation. Postponing heating is considered as a necessary measure to save resources in winter.
