Spartak won the first match after Stankovich's disqualification
Spartak Moscow defeated Orenburg on October 25 in the match of the 13th round of the Russian Premier Soccer League (RPL).
The match, which took place at the Otkritie Arena stadium, ended with a score of 1:0 in favor of the hosts. The only goal was scored in the 67th minute by striker Manfred Ugalde.
This match was the first for Spartak head coach Dejan Stankovic after he served a one-month suspension. Spartak scored 22 points and moved up to sixth place in the standings, while Orenburg extended its winless streak in the RPL to eight matches, taking 14th place with eight points.
In the next round, Spartak will play against Krasnodar on November 2, and Orenburg will host Sochi on the same day.
Earlier, on October 22, Kazan football club (FC) Rubin beat Grozny Akhmat 4-3 in a penalty shootout in the sixth round of the group stage of the Russian Cup. It was clarified that defender Egor Teslenko, midfielder Ruslan Bezrukov and striker Dardan Shabankhadzhai scored for Rubin. Defender Usman Ndong, midfielder Rifat Zhemaletdinov and striker Georgy Melkadze scored goals for the Grozny club.
