About 4 thousand people took part in a demonstration in the German city of Bielefeld, located in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, on Friday, October 24. The rally was organized in response to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's remarks about the migration issue, for which he was heavily criticized. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on October 25.

"About 4,000 demonstrators protested against Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Bielefeld on Friday evening. The Bielefeld Alliance against the Right called for a demonstration under the slogan "We are the urban image!" in protest against Merz's recent statements about urban appearance and migration policy," the article says.

The newspaper also notes that Vibke Esdar, deputy chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) faction in the Bundestag, was seen in the front ranks of the demonstrators.
