Attackers steal personal data and authorization codes for microloans under the pretext of employment on marketplaces. This was announced on October 25 in the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

"Acting on behalf of the employer, the attackers, having the user's personal data, convince him to send the code from the SMS message. After that, a microloan is issued on behalf of the victim on the websites of microfinance organizations," TASS reports.

Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that such fraudulent schemes have become one of the most common forms of crimes related to trading platforms.

Earlier, on October 6, it became known about a new fraudulent scheme in which attackers try to gain access to other people's accounts on marketplaces. As a first step, the attacker contacts the victim and informs them about the allegedly arrived package. After saying that the person is not waiting for any order, the scammer suggests checking it and dictating the code from the SMS. This is how scammers gain access to the victim's banking data.
