Russians were reminded of the right to turn off their mobile phone after hours
Specialists working on a standardized schedule have the right to disconnect from communication after hours, even if they are on a remote basis. This was announced on October 24 by Yaroslav Nilov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.
"Even if you work remotely, you have the right to be offline. Your working day and working hours are over, you have disconnected the phone, and the employer may not reach you, this is guaranteed to you in accordance with the Labor Code," the deputy said in an interview with TASS.
Nilov also noted that, despite the law, different rules apply in practice when employers call employees at any time, and employees, in turn, agree to complete tasks, believing that this will help them in their careers.
The head of the committee also added that overtime work should be paid. An employer may require that work be performed outside of business hours if an irregular working day is specified in the employment contract, but in this case the employee must receive additional days off or compensation. Nilov stressed that it is important to set limits on processing in case of irregular working hours.
Earlier, on October 13, a survey conducted by the Talantix CRM recruitment system showed that the majority of Russians are interested in salaries and motivation systems at the job review stage. It was clarified that for 42% of respondents, information about the social package and bonuses is important, for 40% — about career prospects.
