The record holder in running, Kenyan Ruth Chepngetich, was disqualified for violating anti-doping rules. This was reported on October 23 by the ESPN sports television channel with reference to the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU), an independent anti-doping organization in athletics.

"Marathon world record holder Ruth Chepngetic has been disqualified for three years after admitting to violating anti—doping rules," the publication says.

According to the AIU, the athlete admitted to violating anti-doping rules related to the presence and use of a prohibited drug.

On October 7, Irish mixed martial artist Conor McGregor agreed to an 18-month suspension for violating the anti-doping policy of the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC). It is clarified that he missed three attempts to take biological samples within 12 months in 2024, which is a violation of the UFC ADP.
