"Spiritual and moral culture of Russia" may become a new subject on the Unified State Exam

The results of the new school subject "Spiritual and Moral Culture of Russia" (DNCR) can be included in the Unified State Exam (USE). This was announced on October 23 by the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov at the plenary session "Protection of historical Truth: contribution of teachers of history and Social Studies" of the Forum of Teachers of History and Social Studies at MGIMO.

"We plan to include the substantive results of the DNCR (Spiritual and Moral Culture of Russia. — Ed.) will be included in the Unified State Exam," Kravtsov said, quoted by TASS.

The minister also said that starting in 2025, the number of hours of history teaching in schools will be increased by 30%. In addition, advanced training programs for teachers who will work on new textbooks are also being launched in Russia.
