The defense of Shishkan's authority asked the Supreme Court to overturn the life sentence

The defense of criminal boss Oleg Medvedev (Shishkan) has filed an appeal to the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation with a request to overturn his life sentence in a murder case and occupy the highest position in the criminal hierarchy. Lawyer Elena Senina told Izvestia about this on October 22.

According to the lawyer, the court's decision was appealed by all participants in the process, with the exception of those who admitted their guilt.

"At the moment, all complaints from convicts, defenders, and the prosecutor's cassation are being accumulated, and they are being sent to interested parties for the opportunity to raise objections," she explained.

Oleg Medvedev headed a criminal community of 18 people. Its participants are charged with a number of serious and especially serious crimes, including murder, extortion, injury to health, illegal possession of firearms and others. In June 2024, Shishkan was sentenced to life in prison.
