In the Ryazan region, police discovered a cannabis plantation in the forest, grown by a 50-year-old resident of the Moscow region, and seized 69 bushes of the narcotic plant. This was reported on October 21 in the Telegram channel "MIA Media".
"During the operational search activities, the guards identified many cannabis bushes growing on the edge of the forest near the village of Khanino. At the same time, it was clear from a number of signs that the plantation was being carefully tended," the report says.
Soon, a man arrived at the site on a bicycle, who began to pick leaves from cannabis. His actions were immediately stopped.
The detainee turned out to be a 50-year-old resident of the Moscow region, previously convicted of theft. As it turned out, he planted cannabis in a secluded place, regularly visited the plantation and took care of it. When the plants were ripe, he began harvesting and making marijuana at home.
After the arrest, the police went to the village of Meshchersky Bor, where the suspect lives, and searched his apartment. As a result, three three-liter cans of marijuana were found, as well as several containers with seedlings. The total weight of the seized drug was 1.2 kg.
On October 15, in Primorsky Krai, criminal investigation officers seized more than 43 kg of marijuana from a 59-year-old resident of the village of Galenka. A criminal case was initiated under Part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The maximum penalty under the article is up to ten years in prison.
