During the offensive on the territory of Karen State, the Government armed forces of Myanmar Tatmadaw regained control of two military bases captured by the rebels in 2024, and also occupied the fraudulent KK Park call center, which was located near the border with Thailand. This was announced on October 20 by the Eleven Media news portal.

"During these offensives, the Tatmadaw also conducted operations to clean up KK Park, a notorious location near the Myanmar—Thailand border known for its illegal activities," the publication says.

According to the newspaper, foreigners, including Russians previously released from there, were kept in the call center as involuntary workers. The article emphasizes that during the special operation, the military did not find any documents confirming the presence of Russian citizens in the center.

It is noted that 10 bodies of the dead were found on the territory of KK Park, 16 weapons and ammunition were seized, as well as 30 Starlink satellite terminals and communication equipment — it was used for international fraudulent schemes. There were more than 1.6 thousand men, more than 450 women and 98 security guards inside the buildings, in total there were more than 2.1 thousand people on the territory of the center.

On October 13, Ilya Ilyin, head of the consular department of the Russian Embassy in Thailand, announced the detention of several Russians in a fraudulent call center on the border of Myanmar and Thailand. He said that the organizers of call centers lure Russians into slavery by offering them a career as models or advertising agents. Most of the time, victims do not realize that they are already in Myanmar, because their phones are being taken away and information about their location is being hidden.
