The government will increase the transparency of pricing for fish products
The Russian government has included fish products in the list of goods for which prices will be monitored based on exchange data. This was reported on October 20 in the government's Telegram channel.
This applies to such commercial fish species as herring, pollock, mackerel, haddock and cod, as well as salmon, including chum salmon, pink salmon and sockeye salmon.
"The solution will make it possible to track the formation of prices for fish products along the entire product chain," the publication says.
Market participants are now required to provide data on over-the-counter transactions of at least 10 tons for domestic and export operations. Starting from November 1, 2025, such information will be submitted on a voluntary basis, and starting from March 1, 2026, it will be mandatory.
Earlier, on October 16, it was reported that the formation of herring prices is influenced by the cost of investments in the development of the industry, ensuring the operation of fishing vessels, increasing staff salaries, logistics, fish processing, as well as the key rate. It was noted that wholesale prices for Pacific and Atlantic herring are currently declining, as Rosrybolovstvo monitors the dynamics of prices for fish products.
