Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said that by the end of this year, the European Union (EU) will decide to provide Ukraine with a so-called "reparation loan" in the amount of 140 billion euros. This was reported by The Guardian newspaper on October 20.

In his opinion, "the issue of using frozen Russian assets in the interests of [Ukraine] is moving towards a happy solution," the publication says.

Sikorski noted that the EU has two solutions: either the complete confiscation of the blocked assets of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, or the provision of funds to Ukraine from the budget of the bloc.
