A student suffered a fractured wrist as a result of a fight with a teacher in Buryatia

A fight between a teacher and a student occurred in one of the schools in Buryatia, as a result of which the teenager suffered a fractured wrist. This was announced on October 20 by Veronika Shtykina, the Commissioner for Children's Rights in Buryatia.

"On October 17, an unacceptable incident occurred in the Village secondary school of Ivolginsky district — during a conflict between a teacher and a student, a minor was seriously injured (fractured hand)," she said, adding that the incident was "absolutely unacceptable."

A video appeared on social media showing a fight between a boy and a male teacher in a dressing room. Other students tried to separate the conflicting ones.

The Minister of Education and Science of Buryatia, Valery Pozdnyakov, commenting on the incident, said that the physics and mathematics teacher who participated in the fight had been working at the school for the second year and could not find another solution to the situation due to lack of experience.

"Now the commissions of the district department of education and the school itself are working at the school. A meeting of the mediation service will also be held today with the participation of all parties — it is important to objectively understand the circumstances of the incident. An investigation by the investigative authorities is underway in parallel," the Rosobrnadzor press service told Izvestia.

The message also noted that the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Buryatia constantly interacts with the Commissioner for Children's Rights to ensure a comprehensive and fair review of the situation, respecting the rights of all participants. After all the checks are completed, official conclusions will be drawn and measures will be taken within the framework of the law.

On April 17, a sixth-grader from Pushkin in the Leningrad Region went to the emergency room after a math teacher hit him on the head with a mobile phone. The source clarified that as a result of the blow, the 13-year-old was diagnosed with a closed craniocerebral injury and a soft tissue contusion of the parietal region.
