The third magnetic storm in October has begun on Earth. This was announced on October 18 at the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IKI RAS).

"The wait turned out to be short—lived <...> the third magnetic storm of October began," the organization's Telegram channel says.

On October 12, the Institute of Applied Geophysics (FSBI "IPG") reported that a weak magnetic storm had begun on Earth, which was predicted by scientists. It is noted that the degree of disturbance of the magnetic field was at the level of G1 ("weak") on a scale where G5 is "extremely strong".
