Putin signed a law on strengthening responsibility for foreign agents

On October 15, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on strengthening responsibility for foreign agents for non-compliance with the procedure of their activities. The relevant document is posted on the official Internet portal of legal information.

The law amends Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Evasion from fulfilling duties stipulated by the legislation of the Russian Federation on foreign agents"). Now, one administrative violation of the operating procedure by a foreign agent is sufficient for criminal liability to occur. Previously, this required at least two offenses within one year.
