Poland cannot accept an unlimited number of Ukrainian refugees. This was announced on October 14 by the head of the Bureau of International Policy of the Office of the President of the country, Marcin Przydach, on the radio station RMF FM.

"We shouldn't just accept them. First of all, we need to start immersing them in our culture," he said.

The politician stressed that Poland is already "at a crossroads" in the issue of accepting refugees from Ukraine. He noted that the integration of migrants should take place through education and their active involvement in Polish culture. Przydacz also added that Poland cannot allow the creation of isolated areas for refugees.

On September 26, Polish President Karol Nawrocki signed a law extending special status and assistance for Ukrainian refugees, as well as ending benefits for unemployed foreigners. According to the law, the special status and assistance for Ukrainian refugees are extended for six months, until March 2026. Social benefits will be paid to working foreigners, including "800 plus" for children.

On October 7, Polish MP Slawomir Mentzen said that Ukrainians should not become deputies in the Polish parliament, they should stop being granted citizenship of the republic. Mentzen also called for an end to the granting of Polish citizenship to Ukrainians and noted the need to extend the period for obtaining it.
