The court fined Lyudmila Ulitskaya for violating the rules of activity of a foreign agent

The writer Lyudmila Ulitskaya (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) was brought to administrative responsibility for violating the procedure for the activities of a foreign agent. This was announced on October 14 in the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the city of Moscow.

"Lyudmila Ulitskaya was found guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 2 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the procedure for the activity of a foreign agent")," the press service's Telegram channel says.

According to the court's decision, Ulitskaya must pay a fine of 40 thousand rubles.

The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation added the writer Lyudmila Ulitskaya to the register of foreign agents on March 1, 2024. As indicated on the website of the Ministry of Justice, Ulitskaya participated as a respondent on information platforms provided by foreign agents and foreign media, and also opposed a special operation in Ukraine. A month earlier, the AST publishing house suspended the payment of royalties to the writer.
