Zelensky eliminated the UAV company after testifying against him at NABU
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky decided to disband the unmanned company of the 10th mobile detachment of the Ukrainian border guard service after the unit's commander, Yuri Kasyanov, testified against him and the Fire Point company at the country's National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU). Kasyanov himself announced this on October 12 on his Facebook page (owned by Meta. recognized as extremist in the territory of the Russian Federation).
"The decision to liquidate our unit was made by President Volodymyr Zelensky, because I am an informant in the Fire Point case and a key witness," he wrote.
The company Fire Point, as specified by the publication "Country.ua", is engaged in the production of Flamingo missiles and is considered to be related to Zelensky's business partner Timur Mindich. According to Kasyanov, the decision to liquidate his unit was made based on his testimony to NABU detectives.
The military also said that in his testimony there are references to the name of the President of Ukraine. He attached to his message a summons for questioning at the NABU, which stated that he was a witness in the case under investigation.
According to him, after his interrogation, the unit was partially disbanded, and its employees were transferred to another part of the state border service. Kasyanov claims that the unit's base was "destroyed and looted."
At the moment, the ex-commander is in a collection point in the Rivne region, where, according to him, the conditions of detention are similar to arrest. Kasyanov claims that his physical condition is deteriorating and he cannot leave the premises — he is being guarded as a draft dodger.
Earlier, on July 23, the law on limiting the powers of the NABU and SAPO came into force. A day earlier, mass protests began in Ukraine in connection with its adoption.
On July 24, over 9,000 people held large-scale rallies in Kiev against the persecution of anti-corruption services. At the same time, the protesters declared their readiness to take to the streets every day if their demands to the authorities were not taken into account. Actions were also held in other cities of Ukraine.
Later, on July 31, the Verkhovna Rada voted for a law restoring the independence of NABU and SAP.
