A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. Units of the North group of forces defeated formations of three mechanized, amphibious assault, jaeger brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense brigade in the areas of the settlements of Andreevka, Pavlovka, Varachino, Novaya Sich and Sadki of the Sumy region. In the Kharkiv direction, units of the motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the border guard detachment of the Border Service of Ukraine were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Volchansk and Bologovka, Kharkiv region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 160 soldiers and eight pickups. Two ammunition depots and six material depots were destroyed.

"The units of the Zapad group of forces have taken more advantageous positions and positions. They defeated the manpower and equipment of two mechanized assault brigades, the AFU special forces center and the National Guard brigade in the areas of the settlements of Moskovka, Prokopovka, Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, Yampol, Novoselovka, Drobyshevo and Stavka of the Donetsk People's Republic. The enemy's losses amounted to 220 soldiers, three US-made HMMWV armored fighting vehicles, a Polish-made Oncilla armored car, 23 vehicles and a 155 mm Bogdana self-propelled artillery system. Seven electronic warfare stations and four ammunition depots were destroyed," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The units of the Center group of forces have improved their position along the front line. They defeated the manpower and equipment of heavy mechanized, tank, four mechanized, airborne, assault, amphibious assault, jaeger, brigades, three assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade, a defense brigade and two National Guard brigades in the areas of Krasny Kut, Vasilevka, Novopavlovka, Grishino, Toretskoye, Dimitrov and Krasnoarmeysk of the DPR. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to 550 soldiers, a tank and six vehicles.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, has defeated fuel and energy infrastructure facilities that support the work of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 137 regions. In turn, air defense systems shot down nine US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, a long-range guided missile "Neptune" and 72 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost 667 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 89,600 UAVs, 631 anti-aircraft missile systems, 25,472 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,598 multiple rocket launchers, 30,381 field artillery and mortars, 43,755 units of special military vehicles.
