The Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China announced its readiness to respond to the US 100% duties.

Beijing is ready to take decisive retaliatory measures if the United States imposes 100% duties on their goods, as such actions by Washington violate international trade norms and undermine global supply chains. This was announced on October 12 by the press service of the Ministry of Commerce of China.

"Deliberate threats of high tariffs are not the right way to get along with China. If the United States insists on going down the wrong path, China will surely take decisive measures to protect its legitimate rights and interests," the text of the message says.

It is clarified that in response to US export controls on rare earths and other goods, China has announced its own export control measures, which is part of a legitimate and moderate national security policy.

The ministry noted that the United States has long been abusing export controls by imposing discriminatory measures on China, including sanctions against Chinese companies, which harms the global economy and violates international order. The ministry also pointed out the inconsistency of the United States' actions with the principles of justice, saying that Washington uses "double standards" by imposing controls on thousands of goods, including semiconductor equipment.

Beijing protested against US interference in economic and trade relations, stressing that such actions undermine the atmosphere of bilateral negotiations, and called for correcting its actions and continuing dialogue based on mutual respect in order to ensure stable and healthy economic and trade relations between the countries.
