The media announced the possible flight of the president of Madagascar from the capital due to the protests.

Madagascar's President Andri Radzuellina could leave the capital of his state, Antananarivo, after the army refused to resist the demonstrators, which are attended by young people and students. This was reported by Jeune Afrique magazine on October 11.

"The rebels did not encounter much resistance. <...> Radzuelina, who got into a difficult situation after several weeks of demonstrations, left the city," the publication says.

It is clarified that this information is not confirmed, but, according to the magazine, the president could have left the state after the start of the protests.

On the same day, the Russian Embassy in the island state called on Russians, who earlier, on October 1, were advised to refrain from traveling to the republic, if they are in Madagascar, not to visit its capital. In addition, the Russian diplomatic mission urged to keep in touch with the embassy by phone in case of emergencies.
