The head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, said that incidents with drones in European airspace are part of a hybrid conflict aimed at creating concern among citizens. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on October 9.

"Something new and dangerous is happening in our sky <...>. Make no mistake. This is part of an alarming trend of increasing threats," von der Leyen said during her speech at the European Parliament.
