Mercuris pointed to Zelensky's desire to exacerbate the conflict with the help of Tomahawk

British geopolitical analyst Alexander Mercuris suggested that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky hopes to escalate the conflict by supplying long-range American Tomahawk missiles. He told about it on October 8 on the air of his YouTube channel.

"[US President] Donald Trump said that before handing over the missiles to Ukraine, he wants an explanation from Kiev as to what he intends to do with them. This means that the Ukrainians have not told him about their plans for Tomahawk, but they have them. <...> The supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, of course, will lead to an escalation," Merkouris stressed.

The expert noted that making such a decision would completely contradict the previous rhetoric of the head of the White House regarding the Ukrainian crisis.
