Mafia members from the list of the most dangerous criminals were arrested in Italy.

Italian Carabinieri arrested 39-year-old mafia boss Leonardo Gesualdo, who was included in the list of the most dangerous fugitives. This was reported on October 7 on the website of local law enforcement agencies.

"Carabinieri <...> broke into a building on the outskirts of Foggia, surprising fugitive Leonardo Gesualdo, a 39-year—old prominent representative of the Foggia Society, who has been wanted since 2020 and has already been sentenced in the first degree to 12 years for mafia association," the report says.

It is noted that law enforcement agencies "caught him by surprise." Gesualdo surrendered to the Carabinieri without offering any resistance.

According to them, during the arrest, a pistol with an erased serial number was found in the man's possession.

On April 4, the state television company Venezolana de Televisioni reported that five mayors of the Venezuelan state of Zulia bordering Colombia, associated with mafia and drug trafficking, were arrested in Venezuela. It is noted that the charges were related to drug trafficking and drug traffickers operating in the state.
