Lecorny named the reasons for leaving the post of Prime Minister of France
Sebastien Lecorny, who resigned as Prime Minister of France, explained his resignation. His press conference was broadcast on October 6 by BFMTV.
Lecorniu noted that one of the reasons was the reaction of the opposition to his decision to abandon the application of article 49.3 of the Constitution. This article allows the government to pass bills, including the budget, bypassing the vote of deputies. According to the politician, the opposition did not perceive this step as a significant breakthrough.
Lecornoux submitted his resignation letter to French President Emmanuel Macron on October 6. The Head of State accepted this petition.
Before that, on October 2, mass protests against the government's budget policy took place in Paris. According to the police, the number of protesters amounted to 20 thousand people. About 5,000 police officers were mobilized to protect order in the capital.
